Lesson times

Lessonsare normally 45 minutes in duration and are generally conducted in the morning through to early afternoon at most locations. Some locations conduct lessons in the afternoon. Starting time varies from location to location. Full details of lesson times are available when enrolling.

Program Fees

(GST exempt) to be paid with Postal Enrolment or at the Location Enrolment.

Program Fees is the Enrolment Fee plus Other fees per child (applicable to each Location)

Other SA Water VACSWIM fees

At some Locations a fee is required to cover the costs associated with using equipment, pool maintenance, cleaning of change rooms, SLSSA fee, etc, for the duration of SA Water VACSWIM program. Look up the Location page and check for the Other Fees per child. This fee is required per child unless stated as a family fee.  

A $4 fee applies to locations conducting the SLSSA Surf and Survive program. A Surf and Survive log book for participants in the Surf & Survive program is included in this fee.

Payment of SA Water VACSWIM fees

Payment of the SA Water VACSWIM fees may be paid by money order, cheque or credit card.

The name and address of the endorsee and the name of the SA Water VACSWIM location MUST be indicated on the back of the cheque.

This year postal enrolments will again be available for all locations, information will be available in the Enrolment Booklets. Postal enrolments close (date to be advised).

Public / Community pools entry fee

Most public and community pools require an entry fee. Entry fees will be indicated in the Enrolment Booklet and on the Location page, however please confirm these fees with pool management.

Some public/community pools offer a discount on entry fees e.g. a discounted book of entry passes, family discounts, other. Please check the information brochure for pools offering discounts on entry fees.

Some pools may require an entry fee for spectators. Check with the pool management.

Enrolment Booklets

Enrolment booklets detailing SA Water VACSWIM 2011 locations, enrolment dates and times and program information will be forwarded to schools in October 2010. They will also be available from swimming centres, tourist parks, libraries and our website. By late October all registered participants from the 2008, 2009 and 2010 programs will receive Enrolment Booklets in the mail.

(The SA Water VACSWIM office or the appointed Instructor-in-Charge will endeavour to keep local communities informed of any changes to enrolment dates and times.) Information on enrolment time on the first day will be indicated at the location. PLEASE CHECK LOCAL ADVERTISING FOR ENROLMENT DATES / TIMES.

Late enrolments

Late Enrolments will only be accepted if there are vacancies in existing classes.  Enrolments will not be taken prior to the first lesson (unless local circumstances allow otherwise).  Enrolments on the first day of the program will only be taken after completion of the last lesson.

 

 

Refund policy

Cancellation of Locations/classes: If a Location is cancelled for any reason you may request a full refund or transfer your children to another Location.

If classes are cancelled due to extreme weather or for other reasons they will be rescheduled if possible, however if circumstances dictate rescheduling classes is not possible or you are unable to attend a rescheduled class, refunds for a pro-rata proportion of the enrolment fee will be made.

Refunds for children unable to attend classes for medical reasons will only be issued if a participant attends no more than 2 days of the program. To claim a medical refund Parents must send a letter outlining number of days attended together with a medical certificate, and a copy of the program receipt.

All requests for refunds must be received by the VACSWIM 2010 office no later than Friday 26 February 2010.

The pool entry fee where applicable to a location will not be refunded.

Transferring between locations

Transferring children from one Location to another is possible, however the child will only be accommodated in an existing class at the new Location if a vacancy exists. Children transferring to another Location will not be provided with additional instruction to the detriment of the existing participants. An enrolment receipt and a certificate of participation signed by the instructor in charge of the original Location must be produced when enrolling at the new Location. For details about transferring between Locations contact the instructor in charge at the Location.

Code of Behaviour

Participants (in and out of the water) are expected to cooperate with the instructions and directions of VACSWIM staff. Instructors are responsible for the children directly involved in their lesson while the lesson is being conducted. Inappropriate disruptive behaviour could result in exclusion from class(es). Instructors are not responsible for general supervision of others at the Location.

Parents should ensure that appropriate supervision is provided at all other times.

Skin Care

VACSWIM encourages all participants to wear a T-shirt, hat and apply 30+ sunscreen. Failing to provide suitable skin protection could result in exclusion from the class.
