Dates of SA Water VACSWIM 2005

SA Water VACSWIM will be conducted over nine days from Monday 6th - Thursday 16th January 2005 (excluding the weekend).

Lesson times

Lessons will be 40 minutes in duration and are generally conducted in the morning through to early afternoon at most locations. Some locations conduct lessons in the afternoon. Starting time varies from location to location. Full details of lesson times are available when enrolling.

Enrolment fees

An enrolment fee of $15.50 (GST inc.) MUST accompany enrolment.  Enrolment will not be accepted without payment of the original fee.

Other SA Water VACSWIM fees

  • A fee will be required at some locations to cover the cost of using equipment and / or pool maintenance and / or the pool plant operator and / or cleaning of change rooms for the duration of SA Water VACSWIM 2002.

  • A $4 fee applies to locations conducting the SLSSA Surf and Survive program. A Surf and Survive log book for participants in the Surf & Survive program is included in this fee.

Payment of SA Water VACSWIM fees

Payment of the SA Water  VACSWIM fees may be paid in cash or by cheque made payable to "LeisureCo". The name and address of the endorsee and the name of the SA Water VACSWIM location MUST be indicated on the back of the cheque.

Public / Community pools entry fee

  • Most public and community pools require an entry fee. Entry fees will be indicated in this brochure, however please confirm these fees with pool management.

  • Some public/community pools offer a discount on entry fees e.g. a discounted book of entry passes, family discounts, other. Please check the information brochure for pools offering discounts on entry fees.

  • Some pools may require an entry fee for spectators.

Enrolment Forms available from Schools, Swimming Pools and National Pharmacy Branches from early November.

Enrolment dates and times

Enrolments will be conducted at ALL Locations on SATURDAY 5/1/2002 from 10am - 12 noon and SUNDAY 6/1/2002 from 11am - 12 noon UNLESS OTHERWISE ADVERTISED LOCALLY.

(The SA Water VACSWIM office or the appointed Instructor-in-Charge will endeavour to keep local communities informed of any changes to enrolment dates and times.) Information on enrolment time on the first day will be indicated at the location. PLEASE CHECK LOCAL ADVERTISING FOR ENROLMENT DATES / TIMES.

Pre-Christmas Enrolments at larger public/community pools

Some larger public / community swimming pools will conduct additional enrolment days on Saturday 8/12/2001 between 10.00am - 12 noon and Sunday 9/12/2001 between 11.00am - 12 noon. These locations are indicated on the inside of the brochure. Enrolment days and times should be confirmed with each location.

Late enrolments

Late Enrolments (i.e. after Sunday 6th January 2002) will only be accepted if there are vacancies in existing classes.  Enrolments will not be taken prior to the first lesson on Monday 7th January 2002 (unless local circumstances allow otherwise).  Enrolments on the first day of the program will only be taken after completion of the last lesson.

Refund policy

Refunds of enrolment fees may be available in exceptional circumstances. For details contact the instructor in charge at the location.

Transferring between locations

Transferring children from one location to another is possible, however the child will only be accommodated in an existing class at the new location if a vacancy exists. Children transferring to another location will not be provided with additional instruction at the expense of the existing participants. An enrolment receipt and certificate of participation signed by the instructor in charge of the original location must be produced when enrolling at the new location. A new medical and consent form must be filled out at the new location before the child enters the water. For details about transferring between locations contact the instructor in charge at the location or the SA Water VACSWIM office.

Cancellation of classes

If classes are cancelled due to poor weather or for other reasons they will be rescheduled if possible, however if circumstances dictate rescheduling classes is not possible, refunds for a proportion of the enrolment fee will not be made.

Code of Behaviour

Participants (in and out of the water) are expected to cooperate with the instructions and directions of SA Water VACSWIM staff. Inappropriate disruptive behaviour could result in exclusion from classes.

Remember!

Parents are asked to ensure children wear a T-shirt, hat and sunscreen.
