VACSWIM 2009

SA Water VACSWIM will utilise the Royal Life Saving Society of Australia- SA Branch (RLSSA-SA) and Surf Life Saving SA (SLSSA) awards. Children will be provided with opportunities to develop a range of skills in water safety, competence and confidence in the water, improvement in swimming strokes, personal survival activities and emergency procedures. Programs will be conducted according to VACSWIM Administrative Guidelines.

INSTRUCTOR IN CHARGE GRADE 2 (IC2) $24.14 per hour
Applicants must have the qualifications and experience in the conduct and administration of swimming programs. IC2’s will be responsible for the management of large centres assisted by an IC1 where more than 700 children are enrolled or the whole program at medium sized centres with more than 200 enrolments.

INSTRUCTOR IN CHARGE GRADE 1 (IC1) $22.08 per hour
Applicants must have the qualifications and experience in the conduct and administration of swimming programs. IC1’s will be responsible for the whole program at centres with up to 200 enrolments or be responsible to the IC2 at larger centres for a portion of the program (positions known commonly as Assistant Instructor in Charge or 2IC)
Note: Applicants for positions of Instructor in Charge will be required to identify their experience and skills in the following matters: program management and organisation; people management and customer service; financial management.

INSTRUCTOR $18.76 per hour
Instructors must have the qualifications, ability, skills, knowledge and experience in the conduct of swimming programs and the resolution of any operational problems which may arise during lessons.

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR $13.93 per hour
Assistant Instructors will provide support with administrative tasks and instruction of classes under the direction of an Instructor.

All employees are required to get a National Police Certificate (Valid for 24 months). You can wait to apply for this upon appointment of a position.
